This is... the former-architecture-student in our head is freaking out over this. This makes so many other engineering feats look pathetically dull and unambitious by comparison.

We're too busy being in awe to comment if we think this is a good or bad idea, but we leave it open to discussion: Bering Straight tunnel and rail system - bad? good? Wurblik?

I don't know what wurblik means, but it probably expresses how I feel about this! I was amazed when I first learnt about the Channel Tunnel, so to read that this is going to be twice the length, and be built in much harsher conditions, makes it even more of an awesomely ambitious plan! As for whether it's a good idea, I'd say that Siberia needs all the infrastructure it can get, as it's pretty isolated as it is.
